Brief Description of Cadmium Telluride CdTe powder

Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) is a crystalline compound formed from cadmium and tellurium.

It is sandwiched with calcium sulfide to form a p-n junction photovoltaic solar cell.

It has very low solubility in water, and is etched by many acids such as hydrobromic and hydrochloric acids. It is commercially available as powder or crystals. It can also be made into nano crystals

Application of Cadmium Telluride CdTe powder

1. Used as the semiconducting material in cadmium tellurie photovoltaics and an infrared optical window.

2. Used for infrared optics Detectors Electro-optic modulators, crystal pieces for vacuum deposition

3. Used in the manufacture of solar cells,  HgxCd1-xTe underlay, X-ray detectors, nuclear radio activity detectors, approach visible light radiation etc.
